So today I went to the VLARP productions cosplay picnic.
VLARP being a group that organises some anime larps. This year they're doing Bleach.
Anyway, we had a bit of fun, I took plenty of pictures before I actually started participating in stuff. Then took less :P
We played dodgeball, though the ball was kinda small and light. Took a while before we actually started throwing it properly.
Later on we played Capture the fag. Yes, fag. I think it was originally capture the flag, but an unfortunate typo dropped the l... and everyone went with it.
Much fun was had! Yay!

SOAP summer party 2008
Soap's Summer Party 2008!
We had video gaming, we had improv, we had a dealer's room, we had cosplay!
And I, of course, took pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. 307, to be precise. Not all have turned out, of course, but enough did. Those have been uploaded.

Anyway, this event was fun! Hope to see some of you at anime in the park, and later at next big party, bigger and better than what we did today. Dates and details for those two will be made available when they're known. Keep an eye on the SOAP forums for official announcements.

Cangames 2008
Cangames, Ottawa's gaming convention for over 30 years!

The convention took place, as always on the Victoria Day weekend (May 16-18, specifically)
This year I volunteered, what with a major volunteer request going out and the fact that 'my' two conventions, C-ACE and AC-Cubed, were not happening this year, I needed to get my convention volunteering in somewhere. :P
Anyway, the event was yet again a success, I had some fun gaming, I got a certificate for 2nd place in the Dragon Dice Canadian Championship (we reallly need more participants. If you're in Ottawa and want to learn how to play Dragon Dice, poke me.)
So, as usual, my uploaded pictures are scaled down to save space on the web album. The full 10 megapixel images are available on request. Just tell me which ones you want and where to send them, either with a comment or by e-mailing me.

Ottawa Race Weekend 2008
The first pictures I'm going to mention here are those from the Ottawa Race Weekend I took yesterday. There were many runners out there, over 8000 for the 10k run!
I have been inspired to participate next year, so this photographer will be in front of, not behind the cameras for next year's 10k run.
This will require much training, as running even 1k is a bit of a chore at this time... but I will run the 10k in 2009!
Note that the pictures were uploaded as 'thumbails' of only 800 pixels in their greatest dimension.
Full-sized versions at 3888 x 2592 can be sent if wanted. Just leave a comment or send me an e-mail requesting the specific picture.

Ok, so now I've started this blog to do a bit of recording about my new hobby, photography.
Most of my pictures will be taken on my Canon Digital Rebel XTi, a low-end Digital SLR camera.
Currently only own the lens that came with camera.
A few might be taken with the simple 2 megapixel camera on my cell phone, which will be done when I don't have my d-slr with me and there's something I really want to take.
